Administrative Law is the area of law that governs the creation and operation of administrative agencies. It is one of the four primary law areas, along with the constitution, case law, and legislative law. This form of law is not included in the Constitution.
Agencies and other federal government entities like the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) make law that is binding in the United States. Unlike members of Congress, the employees who draft administrative law are not elected by the American people and therefore are not accountable to the American people.
